About me...

I'm not going to delve in to self-indulgent fantasies of growing up with wolves, or running around barefoot with chimpanzees as a boy, though I wish I would have had such experiences. My life, until now, has been as plain and simple as the next. I grew up in South Wales, earned numerous GCSEs, went to college, then University, then got a job in the real world. Nothing particularly fancy, and nothing particularly geared towards the ecological world, though my fascination with the Earth's natural beauty, and the organisms that it played host to have always been a strong interest of mine, ever since my youthful days spent poking around rock pools and observing the array of sea birds and wildlife in the Gower Peninsula as a child - as a foot note, if you are interested in experiencing some of the UK's best coastal scenery and some fantastic wildlife, the Gower is a MUST!

I have always been interested in the natural world, growing up my favourite animals were dolphins and penguins, this transferred, in my teens, towards big cats and primates, and these are still to my day some of my favourite creatures, most particularly the prosimians, especially lemurs. This continuing fascination with all things living has led my spare time to being filled with self educational reading in to different areas of the animal kingdom, the ecosystems of the world and the importance of the Earth's biodiversity. I am constantly fascinated by changes that are occurring every day, and in many cases overwhelmed by the ignorance of our own species in certain areas of neglect towards this beautiful side of our planet, this is where I am now.

I have spent a lot of time offering up what little knowledge and skills I have to various charitable and voluntary based causes, and have met many interesting and like-minded people along the way. My new lease on life now is to dedicate my entire existence to the natural world, hoping to travel the globe volunteering and helping causes specifically dedicated to the conservation and ecological protection of wildlife and their natural habitats, and in doing this, I aim to share my experiences, and better hope to enlighten you, the readers of this blog, about different issues and global situations that warrant our help and support along the way.

My aim is not to become a single crusader for Mother Earth and her children, I only wish this were a possibility, but all I wish to do is help and make a difference where I can, and in doing so, gain the understanding and experience of different situations, that I may bring word of the countless charities, causes and selfless volunteers from around the world, that you may learn with me, what we can do to help.

I hope in time you will grow to enjoy experiencing my news and information, some of which may be very emotional and in certain areas tragic, but I aim to only illustrate the true nature of the world, be it it's natural beauty, or facts about it's inhabitants, or the saddening destruction of natural habitats and endangered populations. I hope to outline as much factual, and emotional information about my experiences, as well as give you insight in to different species, habitats, countries, eco-systems, as well as champion worthy causes, and offer up words of merit to the dedicated many who give up their lives to help the animal kingdom.

Please feel free to offer up your own tales and news that I may investigate and comment further on various current issues, and by all means get in touch with me if you have any thoughts on what I am writing. My only hope is that you learn something, and if my words help to save but one tree, or one animal, then I am glad to have written.

Bones x
