Touch The Jungle - A project protecting the Rainforests of Ecuador...

I happened upon this cause, as I do a lot of my news, through a post on Facebook. The rainforests of the world are very close to my heart, harbouring some of the most endangered, and fascinating species on Earth. Despite the amazing bio-diversity of these wonderful areas of unaltered natural beauty they are constantly under threat from de-forestation for farm land, illegal, and in many places, legal logging, as well as the constant threat of poaching and hunting for illegal trade in the pet and fur industries. So when I come across a cause fighting tooth and nail to protect these areas, I am always willing to help spread the word as much as possible.

Touch The Jungle is a US Sponsored project dedicated to the protection of habitat and Rainforest wildlife in the Choco Bio region of Ecuador. Supported in full by the work of US non-profit Earthways Foundation their goals are to protect threatened rainforest habitats, rescue and rehabilitate threatened wildlife, and to empower local people to preserve and protect these amazing areas.

The team are highly dedicated in presenting ecological awareness, education and tools to the local community, and work alongside local grassroots projects, such as DECOIN, to ensure that the natural environment gains the protection and sustainability it requires. There is so much that the guys do, that I could in no way express everything in my blog, but I would strongly encourage you find out more through the team's website, as well as spread the word of their cause, the work they do and how you can get involved through donations and volunteering.
