ARKive is one of the leading multimedia companies involved in the animal kingdom. Based in London and supported by some of the biggest names in the Zoological and Media world, they have established themselves as the leading archivers of animal and wildlife footage and documentation, as well as photography, audio and video. I often spend hours getting lost in the amazing world they have created online, and would highly recommend ANY animal lover to check out their website, as there is a lifetime of footage for your enjoyment.
One particular feature I enjoy on the ARKive site is that of their Endangered Species of the Week, which leads to educate on a variety of lesser known creature that don't get the publicity for their plights that they require. I shall be linking to these on a weekly basis, so please keep your eyes out as I am sure you will learn a lot from their reports.
This week's endangered species:
Species: Markhor (Capra falconeri)
Interesting Fact: The horns of the male markhor can reach up to 1.6 metres in length!
